6 Cases of Malignant Ovarian Teratoma

Abstract
|
|
|
We have observed 7 malignant ovarian teratoma among 412 cases of ovarian tumor extirpated in this institution during the period of 12 years and 8 months, from January 1960 thru August 1973. Presented here are 6 cases only because for one case the chart is not available.
1) Among 412 cases of ovarian tumor analyzed, 1961 cases were benign cystic teratoma (39.1 %) and 7 cases were malignant teratoma (1.7°0) .
2) Among teratoma tumor was palpable. in all 6 cases. In 3 cases; urinary frequency and ascites were-present. On the time of operation, in all cases, peritoneal -adhesion was also present.
3) Existence of tumor before operation was 2 months for 3 cases, 10 months for 2 case.. For the remainder, the duration was not known.
4) For one case, 60 CO therapy was administered without success.
5) Two out of 6 cases, died 2 months after oophorectomy, and recurrences took place for the 3 cases 10 months after operation. Lost contact for the remainder.
